Pilling's mission

Our kettles, crucibles and tubs as well as all other products from the W. Pilling Kesselfabrik incorporate more than 150 years of experience in metal processing. This is the valuable bedrock on which we develop, design and produce your product according to the highest quality requirements.

But we are also prepared to face new challenges and remain flexible for the needs of such branches as hot-dip galvanizing, die-casting, wire and steel strip operations and heat treatment plants.

Galvanizing kettles

Our galvanizing kettles are produced exclusively at our factory in Riepe. Every year, more than 300 galvanizing kettles with wall thicknesses of up to 80 mm are produced here.

Lead pans

We manufacture lead pans of all sizes for the annealing and patenting of wire.

Annealing hoods

As a discerning supplier of annealing hoods, baffle cylinders, annealing hoods bases and accessories for the heat treatment of wire and strip steel, we are constantly optimizing our production processes.

Crucibles

For melting processes of lead, zinc, tin and other metals, we manufacture custom-made crucibles, pans, kettles and other accessories.

Muffles, retort units

In addition to annealing muffles, we also manufacture vibrating plates and rolling ladders for your continuous furnaces.

Liquid Metal pumps

Our high-performance pumps have been especially developed for conveying liquid metals or molten industrial salts.

Steel construction

Load handling equipment, stairs and platforms to complete factory buildings, also big and complex frame constructions for furnaces and single or double walled production containers complete the offer of the Pilling Group.

Pilling`s History -
Metalworking since 1873

Since our beginnings in 1873 we have been producing furnace inserts and other weldments for the metalworking industry. At first, it was amongst others waterwheels and annealing pots, which the founders Ludwig Lüling and Wilhelm Pilling supplied to the fast-growing wire industry in Altena. Today, at our plants in Altena and Riepe, we manufacture cauldrons, crucibles, tubs, special pumps for salts and liquid non-ferrous metals, muffles, annealing hoods and other products for various sectors, such as hot-dip galvanizing, die-casting, wire and strip steel operations as well as for metal melting and heat treatment plants.

Another product area of our group of companies is steel and container construction, which is offered by our subsidiary Ruhrtaler Stahl- und Behälterbau GmbH & Co. KG in Dortmund. Here, steel platforms, collection trays and containers in accordance with the Water Resources Act, crane runways and hall constructions as well as blast fences for airports are manufactured precisely to customer specifications and always to the highest quality standards.

PHG Edelstahlrohre GmbH & Co. KG in Wilnsdorf manufactures longitudinally welded stainless steel pipes both in round and rectangular design, as well as jackets for heat exchangers, pressure vessels, chemical and industrial furnace construction, machine and apparatus engineering and other things.

Over time, we have become market leaders with many of our products and supply customers in over 100 countries, primarily with customised solutions ‘Made in Germany’. With around 150 employees at our four locations in Altena, Riepe, Dortmund and Wilnsdorf, we have been combining tradition, expertise and innovative strength for over 150 years.
